Automatic pallet wrapping

Automatic rotary arm stretch wrapper for palletised loads

Wraps pallets in stretch film while keeping the load stationary throughout the cycle—ideal for unstable, heavy or difficult-to-handle products.

A motorised arm rotates around the pallet to apply stretch film. Precise control of tension, pre-stretch and the wrapping cycle protects products from moisture, dust and shifting during transport.

Why choose a rotary arm

Automatic wrapping when the pallet must not rotate

Unlike a turntable wrapper, the load remains stationary while the machine arm performs the wrapping movement. This makes it suitable for unstable pallets, deformable products, heavy loads and formats whose stability could be compromised by rotation.

How the cycle works

  1. 1Pallet entryThe pallet enters the wrapping area and is positioned for the automatic cycle without rotating the load.
  2. 2Film clampingThe clamping unit grips the stretch film and prepares the wrapping cycle with controlled tension.
  3. 3Arm rotationThe arm rotates around the pallet while the film carriage moves up and down to cover the load evenly.
  4. 4Cutting and sealingAt the end of the cycle, the system cuts and seals the film, leaving the pallet ready for dispatch or the next process.

Key benefits

A flexible solution for demanding end-of-line systems

Stationary load throughout the cycle

Reduces risks with unstable pallets, tall products, heavy formats and loads with low internal cohesion.

Protection from moisture and dust

Stretch film helps protect the load during transport, storage and handling throughout the logistics chain.

Precise process control

Variable-frequency drives control arm rotation and film-carriage movement to adjust tension, overlap and speed.

Fully automatic end-of-line operation

Integrated film clamping, cutting and sealing reduce manual intervention and deliver repeatable cycles.

Operational safety

The installation includes perimeter guarding, interlocked access points and emergency stops.

Applications

Where it works particularly well

  • Unstable palletised loads or loads at risk of shifting.
  • Heavy pallets that should not rotate on a turntable.
  • Deformable, irregular products or loads with low layer cohesion.
  • Automatic end-of-line systems with integrated pallet conveying.
  • Food, ceramics, chemicals, construction and logistics.
  • Projects requiring repeatable wrapping with minimal manual intervention.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about rotary arm stretch wrappers

When should I choose a rotary arm stretch wrapper?

When the load must not rotate during wrapping because of its weight, instability, height or the sensitivity of the palletised product.

Can it be integrated into an existing automatic line?

Yes. We assess integration with conveyors, pallet infeed and outfeed systems, guarding, line signals and downstream equipment.

Can it apply a top sheet?

Yes. An optional top-sheet applicator can be added when extra protection is required on top of the load.
